Steam Helo 3/6/9

The Helo Steam 3/6/9 is a steam generator built for home saunas. It works with one of Helo's control panels, Pure or Elite, which you buy separately.

It's made for home use, with a recommended maximum continuous run of about 3 hours. You can set a longer time on the control panel, but running it much past that isn't recommended since it affects how the unit works and how long it lasts. If you need longer or heavier use, the commercial model is the better fit.

Paired with the Elite panel, it adds stand-by mode so the unit stays ready between sessions. The Elite panel also lets you use aromatherapy when you add a fragrance pump. The Home has one AUX input, so you can run one extra like a fragrance pump or controllable lighting, not several at once.

Automatic flushing comes as standard, which clears the tank after use and helps the generator last longer. The tank also drains on its own about an hour after you switch off, emptying roughly 3 litres in around ten seconds. Because of this the unit needs a proper drain leading to a channel outside the steam room, and incoming water pressure between 0.2 and 10 bar. This is a plumbed-in unit, not something you just plug in.

How often you need to descale depends on your water. With soft water there's very little need, but above 4°dH a water softener is recommended to cut down on limescale. Most tap water in Finland is soft, so for many saunas this won't be an issue.

The Essential steam nozzle is included. If you want to use scents during steaming, add the Bahia Home steam outlet.

Power options are 3, 6 and 9 kW. The right size depends on your steam room volume, wall type, and whether the room has ventilation. A light wall of glass or plastic holds heat differently than a heavy wall of tile, concrete or stone, so the same unit covers a different volume range depending on the build.
Steam room volume (m³):
3 kW: up to 3 m³ in a light-wall room without ventilation, up to 2 m³ with heavy walls and no ventilation. Not suitable with ventilation at this power.
6 kW: 3 to 8 m³ light wall with ventilation, 4 to 15 m³ light wall without. Heavy wall: 2 to 5 m³ with ventilation, 2.5 to 8 m³ without.
9 kW: 6 to 16 m³ light wall with ventilation, 13 to 24 m³ light wall without. Heavy wall: 4 to 10 m³ with ventilation, 7 to 16 m³ without.

Reservoir holds about 2.4 litres in use. Weight with water is 16 kg.
